Corrections, questions, feedback — all genuinely welcome. If you have found an error on the site, that is the most useful message you can send.
Ways to reach us
What to expect
What this site is and how it is built.
- Replies usually within a few days.
- Corrections are checked against sources and fixed if they hold up.
- No mailing list — writing to us does not sign you up to anything.
Send a message
This sends straight to us — no mail app required. If you would rather write from your own email, info@transversewaves.com reaches the same place.
Reporting a correction
Accuracy matters more here than anything else on the site, so corrections get priority. Anything about the physics can go straight to martin@transversewaves.com if you would rather skip the form. The most useful reports include:
- The page and, if you can, the section heading.
- What it currently says and what it should say.
- A source, where one exists — a textbook, a paper or a reference table.
That last one is not a requirement. "The number in the speed-of-sound table looks wrong for mercury" is still a perfectly good message, and it will still get checked.
Using the diagrams and content
For classroom and personal study use, go ahead — show the simulations in a lesson, put a diagram on a worksheet, set the quiz as revision. A credit and a link back are appreciated but not demanded. For republishing content commercially or at scale, please ask first; the terms are set out in theterms and conditions.
What we do with your message
Your message is passed to our email provider, turned into an email, and lands in a mailbox. Nothing is stored in a database. We use it to reply to you and, for corrections, to fix the site. We do not add senders to any mailing list and we do not pass addresses to anyone. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
